Overview
Founded in 1878 in Gainesville, Georgia, Brenau University has grown from a female seminary to a multi-college liberal arts institution offering both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Although the residential campus remains all-female, the school offers coeducational online undergraduate and graduate degrees. The university grants degrees through four schools: the College of Business & Mass Communication, the College of Education, the College of Fine Arts & Humanities, and the College of Health & Science. Brenau currently offers 16 completely online undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Student Appeal
Brenau ranks highly in both academics and price, and can be a good option for those who want the exclusivity of a small private school at a great price. U.S. News & World Report ranked Brenau 11th in their "Great Schools, Great Prices" category for 2012; Brenau also ranked 29th in the magazine's overall Southeastern rankings, making it one of only two schools in Georgia that made the rankings for the region.
