Career Colleges of America was first established in 1988 to offer entry-level training in various career opportunities. Along with the expansion of locations to three campuses in Southern California, additional vocational programs have also been implemented in order to satisfy increasing demands of the industry. With a solid vocational nursing program, as well as programs in medical assisting, surgical technology and other health care fields, Career Colleges of America is committed to providing the best possible training that enables students to secure employment after graduation and excel in their career.

The institution features accelerated training, as the maximum length of any program is less than 2 years. Every student has access to classroom and personalized consultation. Its active Career Services is students' hub for externship and employment resources, such as current employment leads, job market strategies, and resume preparation.

This program presents the basic knowledge and skills to qualify students for employment as a diagnostic medical sonographer. Graduates gain fundamental understanding of anatomy and physiology, physics related to sonography, equipment maintenance, appropriate documentation, and quality assurance programs. They are also able to patients for sonographic examinations and assist physicians with more extensive procedures as necessary, in hospitals, imaging centers, and various clinics.

Designed for those interested in an entry-level position in the medical field as a medical assistant, clinical lab assistant, medical receptionist, or medical records clerk, students of this vocational track learn to perform EKG, simple lab tests, and general office procedures, with exposures to pertinent terminology and procedures for the clinical assistant.

Students earn proficiency with medical billing through instruction and training on billing forms and eligibility guidelines, coding diagnoses and procedures, as well as Medisoft application software. Graduates possess the expertise for employment as a medical clerk performing front office duties in various clinics and hospitals, or as a health claim examiner for insurance companies.
