Overview
Tracing its origins back to 1899, Coyne College is one of the oldest institutions of its kind in the United States. Formerly Coyne American Institute, the school now has two locations in Chicago, Illinois (at Green Street and the Loop), featuring approved Diploma and/or Associate Degree programs in the fields of electrical construction and maintenance, electrical planning, electronic systems, HVAC-R, medical assistance, medical billing & coding, and pharmacy tech. Coyne College features hands-on exercises and courses that focus on current industry trends to provide students with professional training and experience. Day and night classes are available, and scheduled to start throughout the year. No one is "just another student"; all enrollees can rely on instructors, Advising Staff, and the Director for advice on technical or personal matters.
Financial
Coyne College offers both state and federal financial aid programs in Chicago for those who qualify. These programs include Federal Stafford Loan (Subsidized and Unsubsidized), Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS), Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work Study Programs (FWS), and Imagine America Foundation Scholarship.
- Electrical Construction and MaintenanceElectrical Construction and Maintenance
Students of this Diploma program acquire trouble-shooting skills and knowledge to analyze residential/industrial wiring systems and power systems. The courses cover electronic principles, electrical theory and applications, electrical test equipment and safety, residential electrical construction, 3-Phase Systems, programmable controllers, and more.

- Electrical Construction and PlanningElectrical Construction and Planning
This Associate Degree program trains enrollees to install and maintain electrical devices and wiring in home, factories, offices, and other environments as professional electricians. The coursework delve into the theory and practice of electrical and electronic basics, tool usage, test equipment, safety, residential and commercial wiring, programmable controllers, and design fundamentals. Hands-on exercises include conduit bending and installation, lighting, and control systems installation, enhanced by actual project planning, estimating, blueprint reading, and basic AutoCAD designing.

- HVAC-RHVAC-R
In this Associate Degree program, students learn how to diagnose, service, repair and manage systems in preparation for the EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification Exams and become a HVAC-R (Heating, Vacuum, Air Condition and Refrigeration) professional. The training courses begin with introduction to mechanical refrigeration systems, electrical servicing and commercial controls, then proceed to cover gas heating, air conditioning, heat pumps, sheet metal, advanced controls, before ending with installation and troubleshooting.

- Medical AssistantMedical Assistant
This program provides students with the practical, administrative, and clinical skills to become a medical assistant. The instruction covers appointment scheduling, medical record management, medical terminology, computer applications, and front office skills, preparing graduates for job opportunities in physicians' offices, medical centers, medical billing offices, and hospitals. The curriculum includes externships.

- Medical Billing & Coding SpecialistMedical Billing & Coding Specialist
Students receive hands-on medical billing and coding training for employment in real-life health care settings, including physicians' offices, medical centers, and billing offices. From medical billing and collection, records management, medical insurance claims procession, to CPT and ICD9 Diagnostic codes, this curriculum provides the right training to give graduates a competitive edge as potential part of a medical team.

- Pharmacy TechnicianPharmacy Technician
This Diploma program is designed to meet the growing demand for pharmacy technicians in all medical practice settings. Through courses emphasizing product knowledge and detailed information regarding drugs, along with studies in relevant areas (such as anatomy, sterile techniques, office automation, medical terminology, law and ethics, etc.), students develop their skills in computer order entry, pharmaceutical calculations, record keeping, mixing intravenous solutions, and compounding of products to be dispensed. Externship experience in retail or hospital pharmacies is included to further their abilities in assuming the many responsibilities of a pharmacy technician.
