Overview
Keiser Career College offers career-oriented training programs that help prepare students for positions in allied health and computer technology. Associate degrees and diplomas are available from one of six Florida campuses. All programs focus on the specific skills and knowledge needed for today's career fields. The faculty is comprised of industry-experienced professionals who offer students personal attention and their own practical knowledge.

  • Associate in Computer Networking with Emerging TechnologiesAssociate in Computer Networking with Emerging Technologies
    This program features instruction in various network designs, computer-related equipment, network management, systems and application software. Additionally, students are introduced to exciting, emerging technologies such as network security, wireless networks, Voice Over IP, and remote network management, with coursework designed to train prospective network administrators in standard networking principles. Graduates are eligible to sit for the MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician), MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), A+, Network+, Linux+, Security+, CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator), and Cisco Communications IP Express Specialist certifications.
  • Associate in Diagnostic Medical SonographyAssociate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
    Students looking to pursue a career as medical sonographers acquire the knowledge in general sonography, ultrasound physics and instrumentation necessary in this program. Through an integration of didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences, enrollees receive the requisite training to function as entry-level diagnostic medical sonographers, applying diagnostic techniques under the supervision of a licensed doctor of medicine and assist physicians in gathering data necessary to reach diagnostic decisions.
  • Associate in Emergency Medical ServicesAssociate in Emergency Medical Services
    This program encompasses two occupational opportunities: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic. Students develop the capability to recognize the nature of the patient's condition or extent of injuries to assess the requirements for emergency medical care, administer appropriate emergency medical care, as well as performing safely and effectively to the job description. Graduates may work in a variety of different fields, such as industrial, safety, and emergency room.
  • Associate in Massage TherapyAssociate in Massage Therapy
    Training in hydrotherapy, massage law, the prevention of medical errors, and allied modalities highlights this curriculum. Students receive instruction in therapeutic massage, with knowledge of the structure and function of the human body, in addition to clinical practice to hone skills learned in the program. Graduates possess the expertise necessary to meet the needs of the health care community, and often seek employment opportunities as a massage therapist.
  • Associate in Medical AssistingAssociate in Medical Assisting
    In addition to studying the clinical aspects of medical assisting, students of this program learn how to function in an administrative capacity at the medical office. The coursework feature laboratory tasks, including blood chemistry and urinalysis; and clinical skills such as X-Ray, EKG, patient assisting, vital signs, injections, venipuncture. Graduates are able to function effectively as an integral member of a physician's health care team.
  • Associate in Pharmacy TechnologyAssociate in Pharmacy Technology
    Through instruction on how to assist the pharmacist in the packing and distribution of medication, students gain the professional and technical skills necessary for direct employment as a pharmacy technologist. Graduates are eligible for the National Certified Pharmacy Technician (NCPhT) certification exam, and suitable for employment in hospitals, nursing care facilities, private and chain drug stores, drug manufactures, wholesale drug houses, and health maintenance organizations.

    This program is designed to enable individuals currently in the Practical Nursing profession to become Registered Nurses. It prepares students as Registered Nurses for a variety of careers in the nursing and health care fields, and incorporates the students' previous nursing training into the program requirements. The courses encompass legal and ethical decision-making in the promotion of health in the community. Enrollees will integrate theoretical content of general education classes with nursing theory and practice. Graduates are eligible to become a candidate for the NCLEX-RN.
  • Associate in Surgical TechnologyAssociate in Surgical Technology
    As prospective surgical technologists, students are trained to prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions. They also learn how to pass instruments and other sterile supplies during a surgical procedure, count sponges, hold retractors, and restock the operating room. This program features the essentials of healthcare, surgical instrumentation, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and sterile techniques required for entry-level employment as a member of the healthcare team in hospital or surgical center operating rooms.

    Designed to provide students with the knowledge to manage a modern computer network, this curriculum offers the fundamental understanding of operating systems and network software for both single and multi-user environments, along with introduction to rapidly emerging technologies.   • Diploma in (EMT-B) ParamedicDiploma in (EMT-B) Paramedic
    This is an opportunity to accumulate learning experiences that enable students to acquire and assimilate the necessary technical competencies to function effectively as a supportive health care provider. Designed to prepare enrollees for a career in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Field, this program provides the basic and advanced skills necessary to utilize EKG interpretation, airway management, vascular access, emergency pharmacology, and other advanced life-support procedures, in addition to administering drugs orally and intravenously, performing endotracheal intubations, using monitors and other complete life-saving equipment.

    In this program, enrollees study the muscles of the body and train in the techniques used as a means of treating painful ailments, decompressing tired and over worked muscles, reducing stress, rehabilitating sports injuries, and promoting good health. Students also participate in a clinical setting to practice the skills they have acquired. This diploma program can be completed in 10 months for full-time day students or in 20 months for part-time evening students. Graduates qualify for the NCETMB examination of the NECTM Examination.
  • Diploma in Medical AssistingDiploma in Medical Assisting
    This curriculum prepares students for a career as an integral part of a physician's healthcare team. They are trained to give injections, administer electrocardiograms, handle insurance claims, maintain patient records, take vital signs, and assist in minor surgical procedures. This diploma can be completed in 8 months (32 weeks) for full-time day students, or in 14 months (56 weeks) for part-time evening students.
  • Diploma in Medical Billing and CodingDiploma in Medical Billing and Coding
    Students interested in medical billing and health information management as a profession should find this program beneficial. They will develop a thorough knowledge of medical terminology, health records management, insurance procedures and billing software, medical coding, as well as skills in business communications and office administration that are vital for success in this growing field. Graduates are able to competently perform medical office procedures, medical keyboarding, health care records management, medical insurance processing, and basic coding techniques.
  • Diploma in ParamedicDiploma in Paramedic
    The intense training featured in this program prepares students for an entry-level position as a paramedic, utilizing clinical decision-making to formulate a field impression in order to provide basic and advanced life support. Graduates have the knowledge and skills to act as a team leader during an ambulance response to medical emergencies, rescue operations, mass casualty situations, and crime scenes.
  • Diploma in Paramedical Aesthetician (Advanced Clinical Skincare Specialist)Diploma in Paramedical Aesthetician (Advanced Clinical Skincare Specialist)
    In this program, students train to prepare the skin before and after cosmetic surgery in order to reduce scarring and help it heal better with less pain. As well, they work with products and tools to improve the appearance of damaged or aging skin, applying techniques to beautify the skin through a variety of ways; including facials, skin analysis, make-up artistry, microdermabrasion, facial treatments and skin care regimes. Emphasis is placed on subjects applicable to cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, dermato-pathology, and body/facial treatments. All students are required to complete at least 80 "services" as part of their practical training. Graduates are qualified to work with plastic surgeons and dermatologists in pre-and postoperative skin care.
  • Diploma in Pharmacy TechnologyDiploma in Pharmacy Technology
    This curriculum prepares students to assist pharmacists in packaging and distributing medication in a variety of environments, including hospitals, nursing care facilities, drug stores, and health maintenance organizations. This program can be completed in 10 months for full-time day students, or in 18 months for part-time evening students.
  • Diploma in Practical NurseDiploma in Practical Nurse
    Students of this program gain familiarity with the techniques and procedures of basic bedside care used by practical nurses who care for the sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled. They learn how to take vital signs, observe patients and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments, collect samples for testing, perform routine laboratory tests, feed patients, and record food or fluid intake and output.
  • Diploma in Professional Clinical Massage TherapyDiploma in Professional Clinical Massage Therapy
    This program provides instruction in therapeutic massage with advanced training in the treatment of soft tissue ailments, postural distortions, and degenerative process of the body. Students receive training in massage law, basic massage theory techniques, allied modalities, and neuromuscular clinical massage theory techniques, plus 90 hours of practical clinical experience. With a proper repertoire of various therapeutic massage techniques, graduates are able to perform as an entry-level massage therapist.
