Overview
Founded in 1909 and based in New York City, TCI College of Technology provides technical education and career preparation for working adults and recent graduates desiring to enter directly into competitive Business, Healthcare, Information Technology, and Vocational career fields. TCI offers 21 Degree and 3 Certificate programs and accepts students into many programs with NO HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA* needed. TCI College is located directly across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.
Student Appeal
Students gain hands-on training with specialization in active professional careers through up-to-date methods taught by experienced instructors. Students and alumni of TCI receive intensive career assistance including counseling, workshops, internships, and job placement. Additionally, students have the opportunity to experience leadership and social development through clubs and student organizations, student government, athletics, and learning outside the classroom. TCI has achieved an international reputation for excellence in technological education with 21 computer labs, 9 electronics labs, and 7 HVAC labs. Students have the flexibility to study around work and family commitments with a 3-day-a-week program schedule for those who qualify. The average class size is 21 students and faculty are industry trained professionals who work hands on with students to ensure their success.
TCI serves more than 4,000 students from over 100 different countries and its curricula prepare students for the needs of today's workplace. In the annual survey by Community College Week, TCI has ranked "Ranked #1 College in America for two-year institutions in the 2008 annual survey by Community College Week in the awarding of Associate Degrees in Computer & Information Sciences & Support Services and #3 & #5 in New York State in the awarding of Associate Degrees to Hispanic and to Black students."
Financial
Financial assistance is available to qualified students in the form of federal grants, loans, work study, and scholarships. Self-help programs are also available and can be accessed through a financial aid counselor.
The COLLEGE is accredited by the New York State Board of Regents and the Commissioner of Education, and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education** which accredits NYS Colleges & Universities like Columbia, Cornell, Colgate, Cooper Union, NYU, and St. John's University.
*Students without a high school diploma must meet federal and state ability to benefit guidelines to be accepted into TCI programs.
